These are questions most parents hear from the back seat during family road trips. As parents, we have our own ways of responding and reacting to our children's inevitable questions.
Years ago, before becoming a parent, a friend told me how his parents responded during their family car trips:
“just 9 more miles!”
To young children, 9 miles doesn't seem very far so they usually can ‘hold it.’ Yet, it is long enough that they often forget the ‘need’ and focus on something else. I thought it was a great response. And thus, began my reply, to all, on our family road trips. 😎
